Claude in marketing: what we really use it for
Claude is an AI assistant made by Anthropic. How we use it for writing, analysis, reporting and marketing automation, with concrete examples for beginners.
When people hear "AI assistant", most picture ChatGPT. In our daily work we also use Claude a lot, the AI assistant from the US company Anthropic. What does a normal workday with it look like? Here are concrete examples.
What Claude is
Claude is an AI assistant you talk to like a colleague: you write a question or task and it responds. It works with text, spreadsheets, documents and images. It runs in the browser, on mobile and on desktop, and has both a free and a paid version.
What we use it for
1. Writing and editing copy
- ad copy drafts (always several versions for testing),
- short video scripts,
- customer emails,
- turning text into clear, plain language.
Tip: Claude writes naturally, but always tell it who the text is for and what tone it should have.
2. Analyzing long documents
Upload a long document, a contract, a survey, a customer interview transcript, and ask for a summary of the key points. Instead of an hour of reading, you have an overview in a minute. For important matters, always verify the key parts in the original.
3. Working with spreadsheets and numbers
Upload an export from your ad platform and ask: "Which campaigns spent the most and brought the fewest orders?" Claude prepares an overview and suggests what to change. More in Automated reporting with Claude.
4. Projects with your own rules
Claude lets you create a project where you store rules and materials: a brand description, tone of voice, target audience, products. Every text created in that project then follows those rules. You don't have to repeat them each time.
5. Connecting to other tools
Claude can connect to other apps, such as documents, email or calendar, through connectors. That lets it work with your materials directly, without copy-pasting. And with Claude Code it can also build simple automations and scripts.
What to watch out for
- Check the facts. Claude can make mistakes too. Verify numbers, dates and claims.
- Protect sensitive data. Don't put customers' personal data into any AI tool unless you have a legal basis and company rules for it.
- Edit the output. AI text is a great draft, not a finished product.
Claude or ChatGPT?
Both are excellent and each has its strengths. We use both depending on the task. For a beginner, learning to give good instructions matters more than figuring out which tool is "the best".
How to write prompts that get good results
- Context: who you are, what you sell, to whom.
- Task: exactly what you want.
- Format: length, structure, number of versions.
- Example: a sample of text you like.
Summary
Claude is a reliable helper for writing, analyzing documents, working with numbers and automation. You get the most from it when you give it context and check and edit its output. We teach how to use AI tools in practice in FLAI Creators Club.
