A 30-day content plan with AI: a simple guide
Not sure what to post? How to use AI to prepare a whole month of posts in one afternoon. Step by step, even for beginners.
The biggest problem with social media isn't filming. It's the question "What should I post today?" Without a plan, you post irregularly and at random, and the results are random too. With AI, you can prepare a plan for the whole month in one afternoon.
Step 1: Who and why
Before you open an AI tool, answer three questions:
- Who is my customer? (For example: parents on parental leave who want to start a business.)
- What bothers them? (No time, no idea where to start, fear of failure.)
- What am I selling them? (An online course, a consultation, a product.)
These answers are the foundation of all your content.
Step 2: 3–5 core topics
Choose your content pillars, the topics you'll keep coming back to. For example, for a café:
- coffee and how it's made,
- behind the scenes and the people,
- events and news,
- tips for trips in the area.
Every post should belong to one of the pillars.
Step 3: Let AI suggest ideas
Now it's AI's turn (ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant). Write something like:
"I run a café in Vienna. My customers are young people and families. My topics are: coffee, behind the scenes, events, local trips. Suggest 40 ideas for short videos, each with an attention-grabbing opening line."
From the suggestions, pick the 20–30 you like and that sound like you.
Step 4: Put them in a calendar
Spread the chosen ideas across the month. A simple rule:
- alternate topics so it doesn't get repetitive,
- consistency beats volume: 3 times a week steadily is better than 10 times one week and then nothing,
- add key dates (holidays, promotions, seasons).
Step 5: The content mix
Not every post should sell. A proven mix:
- most: useful or entertaining content (tips, how-tos, stories),
- a smaller part: trust (behind the scenes, reviews, results),
- a small part: direct selling (offers, promotions).
When people get value, they're happier to buy from you.
Step 6: Prepare captions in advance
AI can also help with post captions and video scripts. But always rewrite them in your own words. People quickly spot impersonal, robotic text.
Step 7: Review after a month
See which posts got the most views, saves and messages. Make new versions of those. Drop the ones that didn't work.
A simple calendar template
- Monday: a tip or how-to.
- Wednesday: behind the scenes or a story.
- Friday: an offer, a review or a result.
Summary
A content plan frees you from the daily "what should I post". Get clear on your customer, pick your topics, let AI suggest ideas, schedule them and review after a month. If you'd like a custom strategy and plan, see our content strategy service.
